5-axis CNC vertical machining centre for milling very large workpieces

A range of interpolated 5-axis CNC vertical machining centres designed for milling medium, large and very large workpieces across various materials as steel, aluminium, composites and resin.

The Flymill range of machining centres offers four models - 1000, 1300, 1600 and 2000. The main difference between  the models is vertical and horizontal travel – 2,500 mm, 4,000  mm and 3,500 mm – whereas longitudinal travel spans from 2000mm to 8,000mm and over.
The amply dimensioned table, structural rigidity and operational travel distances allow these machining centres to operate also in a  shuttle configuration. Linear axis speed  is 40m/min and can reach up to 60m/min.  The twist heads, with continuous axis C rotation, axis A rotation from -105° to +120°, rotational speed of 100 rpm and 40 kW electrospindle, guarantee maximum production flexibility and are the ideal solution for complex machining operations.
A wide choice of high-performing electrospindles is available  with rotation speeds reaching up to 40,000 rpm and continuous torque up to 137 Nm allowing  for continuous  high-speed machining of composite materials, light alloy, steel and superalloys from rough milling  to surface finishing operations. All the electrospindles are thermally stabilised and a purpose software specifically  designed compensates any thermal expansion  and drift  to ensure maximum machining precision in varying operational conditions.

A wide selection of optional accessories are also available for the Flymill range allowing customers to adapt these machining centres to specific individual requirements.
